Children from across Windsor Learning Partnership shine in the Well Windsor Charity Art Competition
Over 300 budding artists from schools across the Windsor Learning Partnership have taken part in the Well Windsor Charity Art Competition, showing their creativity while raising awareness for wellbeing and mental health in the local community.
The competition invited students to express what “Community Connection” means to them through the medium of art. The entries received highlighted the talent and emotional insight of children from first school to secondary school.
“The response from our students have been so inspiring” said Emma Wright, Director of Art for Windsor Learning Partnership. “Each piece of artwork tells a story and is a reminder of the power of art to communicate emotion that sometimes words can’t. I’d like to thank the schools for their engagement in the project and congratulate the artists of the winning entries.”
The Well Windsor charity, which supports mental health initiatives throughout the borough, praised the competition for putting children’s voices and creativity at the forefront of the crucial conversation. Andy Nuttall, Chair of Trustees at Well Windsor commented “We are thrilled to have the support of Windsor Learning Partnership for this competition. These young artists have given us a window into how they believe that strong communities create stronger mental health. The winning picture by Evie from Dedworth Green First School with a picture of a big, red heart and kind message made everyone feel joyful.”.
The winning artworks from each school were displayed at the Well Windsor Ball on 10th May, where they were auctioned to raise funds for mental health support for local children and young people.
