Oakfield First School earns strong praise from Ofsted
Thu 06 Feb 2025A recent Ofsted report on Oakfield First School reaffirms their unwavering dedication to providing exceptional education for its pupils. The report which follows the ungraded inspection highlights several strengths that contribute to its continued success. Stating “pupils thrive at this happy, nurturing school” with a focus on strong outcomes in phonics, reading, maths and history. This is a clear testament to the dedication of the staff, who have worked hard to create a curriculum that supports every child’s development.
A particular area of praise was the schools’ swift action in strengthening early reading where “staff model sounds accurately and check pupils’ understanding systematically”. This early focus ensures that all children, regardless of background, are given a strong start in their education. The inclusive and supportive culture within the school was highlighted with disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs flourishing alongside their peers. Parents agree on the report, with one quoted as saying “‘Oakfield is a caring school with highly committed staff. It has been like a family to us.”
Oakfield First School are proud of their achievements and will passionately continue to provide a high-quality education that prepares every child for success. -
